BREAKING! Conservative Pastor Corey Brooks Church Burglarized, Received Death Threats

10723274_848593601858865_1757633946_nCorey Brooks, a well-known pastor, had his church on the south side of Chicago burglarized on Saturday, in which $8,000 was stolen from the collection box. However, it doesn’t appear that money was the primary motive behind it.

Ever since Brooks has endorsed and shown his support for Illinois Gubernatorial candidate Bruce Rauner and U.S. Senate candidate Jim Oberweis, the pastor has been receiving death threats as well. Below are just some of the threats from an angry bitter woman on the phone:

“Watch your back fat (expletive). We own you, black. We own you.”

“They can’t protect you, you sell out. You Uncle Tom (expletive) (expletive). Token. You a puppet for Bruce Rauner.”

Brooks himself tweeted what he had to endure the last few days. He believes this was politically motivated and I fully agree with him. This just happened to be the first time he was burglarized, ever since he made his endorsements for the Republican candidates. These are just a few of his tweets:

It is beyond disgusting what these individuals have done to Pastor Brooks. Regardless what your political beliefs are, nobody should ever be faced with these death threats or any kind of disrespect. However, we can’t deny the huge double standard that continues to exist. If it was a liberal pastor who was receiving the same threats and discrimination, this story would be covered much more from the media. Since this isn’t the case, the media coverage does not seem to be as much. We need to make our voices loud and clear that we support Corey Brooks and his right to free speech. I pray for him, his family, and the community that they all can remain safe.
