Brian Williams – The Man, The Myth, The Legend

I’m not sure I have ever witnessed a public figure step in it quite as bad as NBC News anchor Brian Williams did this week. In case you missed it, Williams was forced to admit on air that he had inadvertently lied about being shot down in a helicopter in Iraq, and had continued inadvertently telling the every chance he got for the next twelve years. Maybe it wouldn’t have been so bad for him if he had at least been truthful when he gave his apology, but it seems he may have been a little less than honest in that as well.

Naturally once this hit the news, people began looking at other things he has said and reported on over the years, and it’s not looking good for the man the New York Post calls “Lyin’ Brian”.


As is likely to happen in cases such as this, the internet took the ball and ran with it. A brief tour of social media shows that Williams has been quite the world traveler, reporting on some of the more historical events of our time, and some even a little before our time.
