Nevada Senator Harry Reid is corrupt and a bully. He has a long and checkered past of questionable and shady land deals, and using his position of power to intimidate others.
He is currently being looked at by the FEC for allegedly giving up to $31,ooo in campaign funds to his granddaughter, in clear violation of campaign finance laws. He is also named in a recent bribery scandal, the latest of many such allegations.
So when Harry Reid talks about law and order and justice, it is very hard to take him seriously. But when he makes threats from his seat of power, that is something entirely different. Reid has stepped up his threats again when he appeared on a local TV news program.
Thankfully, Reid’s rhetoric was somewhat mitigated by the presence of Nevada’s junior senator, Republican Dean Heller, who offered support for the Bundy’s situation while promising congressional hearings about the BLM’s overreach and heavy-handed tactics.
He said he was far more concerned about the excessive force used by BLM officers than the presence of protesters. Heller called the demonstrators “patriots,” contrasting Reid’s accusation that the group was made up of “domestic violent terrorist wannabes.”
“I want to find out who’s accountable for this,” he said. “I hope someone at the BLM feels some accountability on exactly what happened; and I fear that there will be no answer to that question.”
The federal government owns 85 percent of the land in Nevada, he added, noting that is a major contributing factor in the ongoing overreach in his state.
He concluded the outrage across America stemmed from the basic fact that “to have your own government with sniper lenses on you made a lot of people very uncomfortable.”
Harry Reid has made a career out of using threats of government action to get what he wants. Although there is no substantial proof, there are many allegations of his involvement in this land dispute. His constant threats and injecting himself into the situation do nothing to disprove the allegations, and instead lend some credence to them.
