Cruz: Trump got ‘clobbered” in Utah and that’s why he’s attacking my wife; That’s not entirely true!

So let’s be honest here and I did not want to touch the subject so I will err on the side of caution.

I am not an expert on the situation, and I am not about running anybody’s name into the ground, so this has nothing to do with dragging Heidi Cruz into the election, but I am holding her husband Ted accountable for his words along with Donald Trump for his reaction.

Ted Cruz’s SuperPAC, which he has adamantly denied association with, tweeted out an old photo of Trump’s wife in her younger days as a model. Trump felt Cruz had some knowledge what was sent out and responded to him on Twitter with this tweet:

Cruz responded with his tweet, and we have to inform you this happened way before the Utah caucus results had come in:

The tweet came from Liz Mair, who created a SuperPAC to take down Trump. She was previously working for Marco Rubio along with Rick Wilson, but since Rubio dropped out, they are using their wicked talents to go after Trump via Cruz’s name. This was her response to Trump’s tweet:

So if anyone is responsible for the rift in the campaign at this point, it’s Mair. Trump and sons think Cruz had something to do with it because like most Americans, SuperPACs are extensions of campaigns. If you look at Keep The Promise, headed by Glenn Beck’s partner David Barton, they are working hand in hand with Cruz, and that’s why you now see it on the backdrops when Cruz gives interviews.

However, Trump deleted the tweet that he wrote for Cruz’s wife and then put it back up. I think that is wrong. Trump is ahead at this point and doesn’t need for this to become an issue. Cruz doesn’t have a pathway to the nomination and he will use his wife now “as the victim” to raise money through and turn Trump into a woman-hating candidate, which he is not.

Now let me address this “clobbering” that Cruz selectively wants to talk about. From Newsmax:

GOP presidential candidate Ted Cruz said Wednesday Donald Trump’s Twitter threat to “spill the beans” on his wife Heidi “speaks volumes” about the front-runner’s character, and stems from unhappiness over Trump’s loss to him in Utah’s primary election.

“He got clobbered in Utah,” the Texas senator told NBC’s Savannah Guthrie on the “Today” show. “The way he tries to change the subject is by lashing out and attacking my wife. Now, I’m not going to stoop to that level, but Donald is in real trouble,” said Cruz, pointing out that former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush has endorsed him.

Tuesday, Trump made his threats after the Make America Awesome super PAC released ads in Utah showing a nude photograph of his wife from a 2000 photo spread for British GQ magazine.

Two weeks ago, Cruz didn’t win any states on Super Tuesday as there were five states in play. On Tuesday night, he lost Arizona, a winner-take-all state and even though he won in Utah, for the night he was 19 delegates short of winning the night.

Now this is just a fact no matter how you want to look at it. If you want a participation trophy, sure Trump got clobbered in Utah, but Cruz got manhandled in Arizona. I understand Cruz has to be upbeat about possible chances of winning the nomination, but he can’t do it if he is coming in 2nd and not winning a majority of delegates.

What do you think about this? Do you think Trump should apologize and leave it alone? Do you think Cruz should apologize for his part? Should both men find the strength to leave wives out of the campaign? Share your comments (below) and share this story on your Twitter/Facebook timeline.
