Can’t Make This Stuff up! Obama Supporter “Disappointed” She is not Gay

“It was actually a huge disappointment for me when I came of age and realized that I was sexually attracted to men,” said Lena Dunham speaking during her acceptance speech at the Point Honors Gala in New York.

This is sort of perplexing. I have always been under the impression that being gay was supposed to be ‘difficult’ in our society and that coming out was to be admired because it takes boldness.

If it is true that society so strongly looks down on gay people, then why would someone like Ms. Dunham be “disappointed” that she would not be able to be a part of these hard life experiences that come with being gay?

Just to be clear, I say all of this without an ounce of condescension or humor. I’m fully perplexed here people.

According to the NY Post:

Lena Dunham spoke warmly about her sister coming out as gay at age 17 at the Point Honors Gala at the New York Public Library on Monday.

“This is probably the most attractive room I have yet to enter,” she told the crowd at the event for the Point Foundation, which helps LGBTQ students.

“Gay men clean up real good, which is probably why I have dated so many of you,” she joked.

The “Girls” star thanked her sister Grace, now 22, saying, “I have always felt a strong and emotional connection to members of the LGBTQ community. It was actually a huge disappointment for me when I came of age and realized that I was sexually attracted to men. So when my sister came out, I thought, ‘Thank God, now someone in this family can truly represent my beliefs and passions.’”

If you aren’t familiar with Ms. Dunham, you may remember her as the woman who was featured in the Obama administrations campaign ad for ObamaCare titled, “Your First Time.”
