Donald Trump blasted CNN’s Anderson Cooper during a TV interview Wednesday, telling the anchor that the public “doesn’t trust” Cooper or his reporting.
The GOP presidential candidate was boasting about his high poll numbers and became furious when Cooper mentioned a poll that Trump was not aware of.
“I am leading across the board,” Trump said told Cooper.
“And then you hit me with this poll that I didn’t see before, where oh, gee, it’s not even that kind of a poll.”
The former reality-TV host then gave Cooper a lesson in ethics and the public trust.
“All I know is I have a very big group of support,” Trump said. “And I think one of the reasons is the people don’t trust you and the people don’t trust the media. And I understand why.”
Meanwhile, Trump on Thursday is heading to the border for the first time since his controversial comments about Mexicans.
Trump will visit a site of frequent border crossings by illegal Mexican immigrants, then meet with law-enforcement officials and address reporters in the border city of Laredo, Texas.
