Tommy Vietor

Dude: Did Spicoli (aka Tommy Vietor) Just Blow the Lid Off Benghazi?

In a word, speechless, would be my reaction to Bret Baier’s interview with Tommy Vietor yesterday on Special Report.  If you did not see it, take a moment…please.  It will not disappoint.

Baier hit pay dirt when he asked Vietor to sit for an interview about the recently released Judicial Watch emails outlining White House preparation of the talking points Susan Rice used during her now infamous appearances on the Sunday talk show circuit September 16, 2012.

Why Vietor?

He is the former National Security Council spokesman for the Obama administration, was in the White House during the Benghazi terrorist attacks, and was heavily involved in preparing Susan Rice with the talking points she used to discuss Benghazi.

During the interview, Vietor drops a “dude” and a couple of bombshells the Obama administration could have done without.

He admits he was in the White House situation room during the Benghazi attacks, Obama was not.

He admits he has no idea where the president was that night. After all, ‘he doesn’t have a tracking device on the POTUS’.

He cannot explain how the CIA talking points that the administration insists Amb. Rice used for the September 16, 2012 appearances included no mention of a YouTube video, yet Rice repeatedly stated the following:

This was not a preplanned, premeditated attack. That what happened initially was that it was a spontaneous reaction to what had just transpired in Cairo as a consequence of the video.

The above admissions, combined with the Judicial Watch emails, give the Benghazi story legs, and the mainstream media will have little choice but to actually cover it.

For me however, Vietor’s appearance itself is the story, as it epitomizes the Obama administration.

The 34 year old began working with then Senator Obama as (and I swear I am not making this up) the press van driver, and worked his way up the ranks to National Security Council spokesman.

During the Fox News appearance Vietor was disrespectful, immature, arrogant, inexperienced, ill-equipped, ill-prepared, dismissive, and flippant about an extremely serious subject.  Vietor’s appearance and subsequent revelations level a devastating blow to the Obama presidency, yet does it really come as a surprise?  Do we not tend to gravitate toward those with whom we have much in common?

The American people elected a man as president of the most powerful country in the world who had little life experience other than that which is gained in college and through community organizing.  Obama was ill-prepared and ill-equipped to handle such a position and the American people suffered the results during his first term in office.

With less than six weeks left in the 2012 presidential race, Obama had a failing domestic agenda and chose to highlight instead his “foreign policy successes”.  After repeating the “Osama bin Laden is dead and Al Qaeda is on the run” line from the DNC to every appearance after until September 10th, he knew the Benghazi terrorist attacks would likely have done him in.

Unfortunately for the American people, rather than being presidential, he chose to be political.  With the complicity of the mainstream media, the Obama administration chose to distract and delay the American people, hiding the truth until Judicial Watch filed suit and Vietor, a.k.a. Spicoli, spilled the beans, dude.

Speaker John Boehner, the one man standing in the way of finding the truth about Benghazi, had little choice but to announce a vote to convene a select committee to investigate Benghazi after the Judicial Watch emails and Vietor revelations.

One wonders if soon President Obama will be joining millions of fellow Americans looking into another line of work?

I can almost hear the conversation between Obama and Vietor now:

Vietor:  Why don’t you get a job Obama?
Obama: What for?
Vietro: You need money.
Obama: All I need are some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I’m fine.
