“Everytown For Gun Safety” Holding Annual National Gun Violence Awareness Day

Anti-2nd Amendment advocates are at it again. Michael Bloomberg’s group Everytown For Gun Safety will hold their first annual National Gun Violence Awareness Day on June 2nd.

On their website wearorange.org, they post their brief synopsis.

Millions of Americans are coming together to fight for a country where every person can live a life free from gun violence. If you believe there’s more we can do to save American lives from gun violence, you are Orange.

They advocate wearing orange because they say it symbolizes the value of human life. If anti-gun advocates want to value life, then they need to once again look at the statistics on gun violence. The fact is there is NO CORRELATION between more gun control and lower rates of crime and violence. In reality, the real correlation that exists is lower crime and lower violence in areas that allow law abiding citizens greater gun rights.

But the facts won’t stop those such as anti-gun advocate Shannon R Watts, founder of Moms’ Demand Action, from politicizing the annual event tomorrow.

Now and tomorrow, Watts, Bloomberg, and many anti-2nd Amendment advocates will take to twitter using the hashtag #WearingOrange. I urge all of us to use the same hashtag to counteract their arguments, mentioning that higher gun ownership in the hands of law abiding citizens truly saves more lives. Ignore the trolls, do not use ad hominem attacks, and simply use the hashtag to our advantage, because the facts are actually on our side.

Guns save lives. More gun control does not.
