Gun-free zone New York City is ramping up security against New Year’s Eve threats!

NYC is a gun free zone, so I’m sure it will be safe. But out of an abundance of caution, they have brought in a bunch of men with guns who can use them no better than the subjects NYC-style liberalism seeks to disarm.

Just remember, the terrorists hate us because we’re free.

Back in November, ISIS released an online video threatening the festivities in New York City for the ringing in of the New Year:

According to today’s latest reports from Reuters:

“We are ready,” Mayor Bill de Blasio told a news conference on Tuesday. “We are the best prepared city in the country, the best prepared city to prevent terrorism and to deal with any event that could occur.”

An estimated one million peo ple are expected in the vicinity of One Times Square on Thursday for the New Year’s Eve dropping of the ball, a tradition begun in 1907 and broken only during wartime blackouts.

Early on Thursday morning police will start closing off major thoroughfares, using barricades to contain celebrants and detour traffic. The city will also deploy about 6,000 uniformed and undercover officers, some 500 more than last year, to patrol Times Square.

Backpacks and large bags have been barred from the area. All other bags will be searched and metal detectors will be used to screen everyone in the crowd.

Do you think New Yorkers should be allowed to carry concealed weapons just in case anything goes down? Do you trust the New York City Mayor strategy? Share your comments with us below and add this story to your social media timeline.
