First of all…the government has no right nor authority to be involved with any private functions. I want somebody to show me where you get this. It is NOT in our Constitution for the government to dictate to any business what they are to pay their employees. The market place should determine this.
Secondly..People who are paid minimum wage are NOT expected to make a living from them. Minimum wage is for UNSKILLED labor and to be a SUPPLEMENT for a family not the primary income.
Minimum wage is meant for entry level jobs, not to make a life out of, these are supposed to be the jobs for high school students or while they are in college. Too many people are relying on these as careers. That is not what they are for. If they want more money they need to go to college and get a degree (most of them are eligible for scholarships to pay their way through college is they would just apply themselves), and get a “REAL” job like the rest of us so they can afford the “luxuries” they shouldn’t be able to have now.
They chose these entry level jobs so their income can be supplemented with welfare. OK, well if you raise minimum wage then the eligibility for welfare needs to go down. Only it won’t because of how many more people will be applying due to the loss of so many more jobs.
