Mad-As-Hell

I’M MAD AS HELL AND I’M NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE!!! Author – Stacy Rush

My fellow Americans, I have a question for you.

At what point will you begin to stop voting for a letter, and instead vote for what is right? At what point will you believe a man’s actions, and not his rhetoric? At what point will you vote your values and not the party line? At what point will you take pride in America rather than feeling shame? At what point will you place America and Americans first rather than those who disrespect our law?

Ok, admittedly, that is more than one question, but I digress.

A budget deal is being pushed through congress in typical DC fashion, negotiated by a scant few while moving forward at lightning speed. After the Obamacare debacle, one would think both parties learned from passing legislation in this manner where the result is those they say they wish to help end up being hurt first and hurt worst.

As details emerge about the budget deal, we learn pensions of our military, including disabled veterans, will be cut while wasteful spending continues.

Sen. Jeff Sessions of AL introduced an amendment to the budget which would protect the military’s pension, however, Democrats promptly blocked the amendment from reaching the floor for a vote.

Must be an awful amendment, right? WRONG.

The amendment funds military pension cuts by closing a LOOPHOLE allowing illegal immigrants to obtain IRS payments through the Additional Child Tax Credit.  Welfare benefits paid for by U.S. citizens in the form of taxes, are currently being paid to those who break our law. The loophole allows illegals to file for the credit without having to use a social security number which would identify them as having entered the U.S. illegally.

Per the proposed budget, military pensions will be cut by $6B over ten years while the estimated annual payout to illegal immigrants totals $4.2B. That’s billion with a B, paid to those who break our law and disrespect our country rather than to the men and women who protect the very freedom the illegal immigrants enjoy with impunity.

Democrats say they support our military and military families, but by blocking a vote on the amendment, Democrats demonstrate by action that they value the unlawful over the military.

So I will ask again, at what point do we stop voting for a letter and vote for what is right? At what point do we stop sending the same people back to D.C. who swear they are fighting for us while nothing changes except the size and reach of government?

Personally, I believe it is past the time for each of us to scream at the top of our lungs to all who will listen, ‘I’m mad as hell, and I’m not going to take it anymore’, like Howard Beale in the 1976 film Network. At times, art does indeed impersonate life.

I don’t have to tell you things are bad. Everybody knows things are bad. It’s a depression. Everybody’s out of work or scared of losing their job. The dollar buys a nickel’s worth, banks are going bust, shopkeepers keep a gun under the counter. Punks are running wild in the street and there’s nobody anywhere who seems to know what to do, and there’s no end to it.

We know the air is unfit to breathe and our food is unfit to eat, and we sit watching our TV’s while some local newscaster tells us that today we had fifteen homicides and sixty-three violent crimes, as if that’s the way it’s supposed to be. We know things are bad – worse than bad. They’re crazy.

It’s like everything everywhere is going crazy, so we don’t go out anymore. We sit in the house, and slowly the world we are living in is getting smaller, and all we say is, ‘Please, at least leave us alone in our living rooms. Let me have my toaster and my TV and my steel-belted radials and I won’t say anything. Just leave us alone.’

Well, I’m not gonna leave you alone. I want you to get mad! I don’t want you to protest. I don’t want you to riot – I don’t want you to write to your congressman because I wouldn’t know what to tell you to write. I don’t know what to do about the depression and the inflation and the Russians and the crime in the street.

All I know is that first you’ve got to get mad. You’ve got to say, ‘I’m a HUMAN BEING, Gd damn it! My life has VALUE!’ So I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now and go to the window. Open it, and stick your head out, and yell, ‘I’M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I’M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!’

I want you to get up right now, sit up, go to your windows, open them and stick your head out and yell – ‘I’m as mad as hell and I’m not going to take this anymore!’ Things have got to change. But first, you’ve gotta get mad!… You’ve got to say, ‘I’m as mad as hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore!’ Then we’ll figure out what to do about the depression and the inflation and the oil crisis. But first get up out of your chairs, open the window, stick your head out, and yell, and say it: “I’M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I’M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!”

Let’s do this people!!!
