The Obama administration once again put a delay on the Keystone XL pipeline this past Friday. It is not the first delay and in fact, it has been 5 years since the first proposal to build the pipeline took place. Perhaps it is liberal billionaire Tom Steyer, who pledged to donate $100 Million to various Democrats who oppose the building of the pipeline. Just recently, liberals were complaining about the Koch brothers and the money they spend towards, but turn a blind eye to liberal billionaires like Tom Steyer, Bill Gates, George Soros, and Warren Buffett.
This is another short victory for radical environmentalists and the EPA. Despite the delay, if we keep fighting to build this pipeline, I believe it can be done. We have the entire world, especially the Middle East, laughing at us for having the most oil in the world underneath us, and we’re not touching it on federal lands. The economic growth is evident on private lands, such as North Dakota which has created thousands of new jobs and an unemployment rate under 3%. This is the reason the White House keeps claiming that oil production is up in the Obama administration. They’re taking the credit for the oil created on private lands, which they have nothing to do with. This delay, along with the countless regulations on federal lands is unbearable for coal and oil companies.
There are even some top Democrats condemning the delay, including Senator Mary Landrieu of Louisiana. She called it “irresponsible, unnecessary, and unacceptable.” Senator Heidi Heitkamp said “Once again, we’re hearing more delays and more uncertainty over the Keystone XL pipeline.” Heitkamp was also one of 11 Democratic senators that pleaded in an open letter to the Obama administration to approve the pipeline. This shows there is bipartisan support for the pipeline. Obama always boasts about working together, and when we finally have support on both sides, he decides to brush it off, as if it doesn’t exist.
I’m frustrated. You’re frustrated. Millions of Americans are frustrated with the White House’s continual denial to start a pipeline that can get the unemployed back to work. It is bad enough to not build the pipeline, but to not build it because of special interests groups and a man-made climate change hoax that doesn’t exist is beyond pathetic. When we have liberals like Nancy Pelosi’s daughter blame earthquakes on fracking, it is no wonder liberals hate the idea of fracking and drilling. They love to come up with any excuse to push their agenda. However, we can never throw in the towel and give up. That’s politics. We’re not going to get what we want immediately, but we have to keep persevering to do so. Let’s keep up the good fight, and get this Keystone XL pipeline built one day.
