It’s amazing the amount of inequality and bigotry that exists in our society today and how much of it is either not noticed or ignored. In many cases, the left – though perpetrating this type of bigotry – often pretends they have nothing to do with it, or they find creative ways to explain things away.
Such is the case with a recent advertisement that came to the fore because of Dan Calabrese, who read about it from CAPCOM. If you’re a teacher, looking for a job in the Oakland County area of Michigan, go ahead and apply, unless of course, you’re a Christian. The folks there don’t want you to bother because they’re only looking for “true” minorities as follows:
Native American, Asian American, Latino, African American and those of the non-Christian faith.
If I were to count up the people I personally know who are Latino and African American and Christian, I would lose count. But apparently, to the Ferndale Public Schools, being a Christian even if Black or Latino cancels out one’s minority status. Not only is this absurd, but it is patently illegal.
Of course, being illegal is not something that bothers the left because it’s how they roll in general. They don’t need no stinkin’ laws or rules, unless they make them.
This is why there are so many on the left who are attacking he 2nd Amendment and vilifying those who support it. Anti-gunners are doing their level best to chip away at the 2nd Amendment so that eventually, the 2nd Amendment will simply fall with nothing holding it up.
It’s the same with everything the left puts its hands to. Here, in Ferndale Public Schools, though it is against federal law to even ask a person about their religion and religious preferences, these people are actually going out on a limb and advertising that they do not want you to apply for a teaching job there if you are a Christian. They are looking for people who are non-Christians. The only sure way of finding people like that is by asking applicants the question or expecting them to volunteer the information. In either case, it is illegal.
As one might expect, Dan Calabrese pointed to reporter Tom Gantert, from CAPCOM. He put in a number of calls to officials at Ferndale Public School and one might also expect, he’s heard back from no one at all. They have nothing to say. But then again, what can they say? Are they going to admit that they are willfully breaking federal law? They can’t do that because of potential consequences (not that the DOJ would do anything about it), so they remain silent.
Ultimately, this is plainly more evidence of the war on Christians that comes from the left. But because laws are in place to ostensibly protect everyone (including Christians), Christians have the legal right to make these illegal policies known to the public. If the government chooses to ignore them, that’s up to them. Christians can and should resist this type of illegal activity and the best way to do it is by broadcasting the fact that it exists.
Yes, Jesus said the world would hate us because it first hated Him. He promised that we would experience all forms of persecution and this is merely one type of it. It’s not physical persecution, but it is most assuredly a type of persecution.
The fact that a public school district that is supported with taxpayer dollars should so blatantly run an advertisement that essentially prohibits Christians from applying for the job that is posted is simply par for the course. We shouldn’t be surprised when this happens because the left is controlled by the enemy of our souls. Tragically, they of course, do not see it that way.
One thing is for sure. As time marches onward, we will likely see more of these types of discriminatory measures that will also need to be brought to the light. Whether things change or not is not the main problem (though one would hope that highlighting it will cause it to change). The biggest problem stems from those who know what to do but fail to do it.
Do not be one of those people. Stand up for what is right. Resist what is wrong. As Paul states in Ephesians 6:13, “Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.”
In other words, stand, stand, STAND, which is another way of saying that we should resist with such fervor that we are immovable. We don’t have to become raving maniacs (like the left). We simply need to resolve to stand firm against the encroachments of the enemy. We also need to remember that we are not wrestling “…against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places,” (cf. Ephesians 6:12).
Let’s simply resolve to resist evil in all forms. Whether the world changes or not, we will at least know that we have done the right thing.
