January 22nd marked 41 years since Roe V Wade, along with the 40th March for Life event in Washington DC. This is much more than just a march. It represents our intolerance to the more than 56 million murders of babies taken place since 1973. The age of the marchers have also revealed that in recent years, a majority of the marchers are younger, which would explain why many optimists, including John Morales, producer and director of ‘The 40 Film,’ a film marking the 40th March For Life, felt that the pro-life movement will be victorious. He said ‘I believe that this is the generation that will end abortion.’ Jim Bob Duggar, the father of the TV Show ’19 And Counting’, went on to predict abortion would end in the U.S. within 40 years. Many polls, including one from 2012, have shown that the majority are once again considering themselves to be pro-life, rather than ‘pro-choice.’ I hope the governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, heard the march all the way from Washington, the very people he said should not be welcome to New York. This march is just once a year, but our work to fight for the right to life is throughout the entire year. We don’t care what any politician, journalist, or any other individual does to us. We will always continue to fight for life and to end this biggest violation of human rights. Despite all the efforts and large crowds gathered at the March For Life events, the mainstream media unsurprisingly did whatever they could to downsize the coverage as much as possible. The networks combined gave 6 times more coverage on the birth of Bao Bao, a panda cub at The National Zoo, than they did for the march. The big three, ABC, CBS, and NBC, gave 4 minutes and 41 seconds of coverage to the panda, while 46 seconds were given to the march. ABC and NBC gave 24 and 22 seconds of coverage, respectively, while CBS didn’t give any coverage. This media is such a disgrace. No news station is perfect, but liberals wonder why conservatives refer to Fox News rather than the big three, and this is exactly why. Unlike the big three, Fox News is by far the most generous in giving opposing viewpoints to any issue. Not only did they give more coverage to the march than the other stations combined, but also have many liberal contributors invited on the show. People are tired of partisan bickering. They just want balanced news and become aware with the current events in the world. Not only do we have to stand up for life and speak out against abortion, but also need to continue fighting for balanced news and eliminate the media bias we’ve been witnessing for many years.
