I had the pleasure of meeting Randy Glisson at a local charity event in Umatilla, Fl. Randy is running for Florida house, Dist 31 as a Republican. By his own admission, its a crowded field. New to the political arena, Randy knows his work is cut out for him. That being said, He struck me as genuine, driven, and sincere. His faith in God and membership with a local Baptist church are also important to him.
Randy is a small business owner and practicing physician. Without hesitation, he spoke of the perils of Obamacare, how its effecting him and his employees. It was Obamacare and the direction the country is headed in that drove him to make a run. I asked Mr. Glisson what he thought of the Tea Party. He replied he believed in the ideals of the grassroots movement and their fiscal concerns.
At a recent forum, questions were asked of the candidates. Here are a few:
Why are you the best candidate for the Job?
Randy Glisson said his experience running a business and having to provide for 18 employees gave him a leadership edge.
Do you feel Common Core will have a Positive or Negative Effect on Education?
Glisson prefers a local approach.
What is the most pressing issued in District 31?
Glisson said he wanted to be a job creator and to ensure we got ahead of the upcoming Health Care Problems.
I look foward to talking more with Mr. Glisson as the election heats up. As we’ve seen before, politics in Florida can get interesting. Stay tuned! – Chris Ivan
