MUST WATCH!!! Campaign Web Ad – The Obama Fading Poster Reality

Youth unemployment remains high, with 18-24 year olds facing unemployment over 15%. In a poll conducted by Crossroads Generation of 800 registered voters aged 18-29, only 22% said that they thought Obama had put into place policies that have made it easier for young people to find jobs. We can do better.
The ad begins with a time-lapse of a child’s bedroom from infancy to teenage years to the eventual “college years” beginning in 2008, as indicated by an Obama poster on the wall with college memorabilia.

A soundbite from then-candidate Barack Obama declares that “change has come” in 2008, followed by a darkening of the room and audio samples in which the president says “I said change we can believe in, not change we can believe in tomorrow” and “shovel-ready was not as shovel-ready as we expected.” A faux-newscaster announces that college tuitions are spiking, “just as young graduates are unable to find work to pay it off.”

The bedroom then fills with packed boxes and a diploma on the wall, indicating the student has now graduated in 2012.

As the camera zooms in on the faded Obama poster, the young graduate walks tells a friend on the phone that “I’m living with my parents again. I don’t know, there’s just no jobs out there.” He approaches the wall and tears down the poster, adding, “I’ve been doing this since graduation and I can’t do it for four more years.”
