U.S. Justice Department announces expanded rights for gay married couples.
After spending the past five years observing the Obama administration, it has become easier to recognize when they are troubled, pinpointing the source of their troubles, however, is another matter entirely.
Most agree the worst week of the Obama presidency was when he was forced to come clean about the Obamacare LIE ‘if you like your plan, you can keep it, period’. Topping the week in which Obama lost the American people’s trust would prove difficult to surpass in terms of bad, but last week came pretty close.
In case you missed it, several reports were published painting a clear picture of President Obama’s failed domestic policies. The January jobs (or lack there of) report revealed far fewer were created than the anemic amount economists had predicted while the Congressional Budget Office report explained how Obamacare’s effect on lost employee hours equates to approximately 2 million jobs lost.
Thank goodness you can keep your healthcare plan if you like it…..
Adding salt to the wound, emails released from ‘I plead the fifth’ Lois Lerner place into question Obama’s assertion ‘there is not a smidgen of corruption’ surrounding the IRS targeting Americans with differed political views than those of the current regime. Remind me again why one pleads the fifth?
Trey Gowdy Takes on Obama’s Assertion ‘Not a Smidgen of Corruption’ Claim
The proverbial nail in the bad week coffin was delivered Saturday in the form of a Gallup poll, where Obama’s job performance approval rating sank to a dismal 39%.
The culmination of bad press clearly concerned the Obama administration as the Alinsky Rules were promptly placed into high gear in an effort to distract Americans from the train wreck that is the Obama administration.
According to CNN, Attorney General Eric Holder announced
“The U.S. government will recognize same-sex marriages as equal to traditional marriages in all federal legal matters, including bankruptcies, prison visits and survivor benefits”
Holder went on to diminish the civil rights movement by comparing it to the war being waged by the LGBT movement for marriage equality, equality like cake baking enforcement and conjugal visits, by saying:
“Just like during the civil rights movement of the 1960s, the stakes involved in this generation’s struggle for LGBT equality could not be higher. As attorney general, I will not let this Department be simply a bystander during this important moment in history”.
While I do not mean to diminish the importance of marriage being maintained as between a man and a woman, nor the administration’s blatant disregard for the Constitution and 10th Amendment, I believe it important to focus on why the announcement was made Saturday, and what they hope to gain.
The left, and in particular the Obama administration, understands its opponents. They recognize which buttons to press in order to achieve a desired response from its enemy, gin up support from its base and gain coverage from its allies in the media.
The administration is convinced it can generate a crisis long enough to distract the American people from the second worst week of the Obama presidency. A week complete with big government economic failures resulting in the longest recession recovery in history and the lowest labor force participation rate since the seventies, big government policy failures where you can’t keep your plan, your doctor and in 2 million cases-your job, period and presidential approval ratings swirling the drain in the thirties with a dash of phony AP, Benghazi, Fast and Furious, IRS, NSA, and Rosen scandals.
Given Holder’s announcement strikes at two sacred conservative ideals; the sanctity of marriage, and the Constitution, it seems the Obama administration’s concern is showing. The question is, will you be distracted?
