This is stunning on many levels.
It signals the Barack Obama infrastructure is likely not going to throw its weight behind Hillary Clinton. It tells donors on the fence that Obama may go a different direction in terms of endorsement and support. And it suggests the White House knows Clinton is in deep trouble over her massive email scandal.
What will Bill Clinton do with this decision? Will he become unglued?
I’ve said this for a while and many might not believe me but for all we know (and many believe it so) it’s the Obama administration driving the takedown of the Clinton camp.
In any event, Obama giving Biden the nod means something is at work behind the scenes and it in no way favors Clinton.
It’s relatively common knowledge that Obama has never been fully in favor of a Clinton White House, but we didn’t know if Obama was going to oppose or help defeat it.
Vice President Joe Biden received President Barack Obama’s “blessing” to make a 2016 bid for the White House, according to a senior Democrat.
But that’s if Biden chooses to run — the decision is his. While he doesn’t need the President’s permission, of course, a potential presidential candidacy was among the topics of their lunch Monday at the White House. The President made clear he would not stand in his way or counsel him against a run, the senior Democrat said.
