Someone has been feeding Gov. John Kasich the numbers so he can combat Sen. Ted Cruz lately. While there is no way for Kasich to reach the 1,237 before the July GOP convention in Cleveland, OH., Cruz has a hard way to go do also.
Earlier this week the Associated Press crunched the numbers and found that Cruz has to win 78% of the remaining delegates to win the nomination before July, improbable but not impossible.
Kasich joined Chuck Todd on Sunday’s Meet the Press and turned tables on the Texas tornado with a stunning show of a backbone.
From The Hill:
“Maybe Ted ought to get out because he can’t win in the fall,” the Ohio governor said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
“Maybe these people that are hot on that ought to tell him to do it. You know, they tried to tell me to get out of the race how many times, Chuck?” he asked host Chuck Todd.
Cruz said Friday that “there’s no good reason” for Kasich to stay in the race.
“When you go 1-for-27, that’s a problem,” the Texas senator said of Kasich during a Friday interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity. “At this point, it is clear the voters have decided it’s a two-man race.”
