Racist NAACP agenda to paint Phil Robertson as racist starts to become weak argument to many

Phil Robertson football
QB Phil Robertson

The NAACP earlier last week took up @GLAAD position of suspending Phil Robertson and added the charge that he made racist statements that the black community was happy under Jim Crow laws. This had turned into a toxic shoutfest between those that read the quote and those that listened to it through liberal hate radio/TV programs.

Phil Robertson was a standout football player but was considered “during his time” not as privileged as many whites. During his quote, he was even labeled “white trash” because of his family’s financial situation and how they lived. Robertson has told many people, many times how he loves everyone, but progressives do not want to hear that at all. They want to paint anyone as a racist if they can get away with it.

Here is the actual quote from Phil On Growing Up in Pre-Civil-Rights-Era Louisiana

“I never, with my eyes, saw the mistreatment of any black person. Not once. Where we lived was all farmers. The blacks worked for the farmers. I hoed cotton with them. I’m with the blacks, because we’re white trash. We’re going across the field…. They’re singing and happy. I never heard one of them, one black person, say, ‘I tell you what: These doggone white people’—not a word!… Pre-entitlement, pre-welfare, you say: Were they happy? They were godly; they were happy; no one was singing the blues.”

Just so that everyone is clear, Phi was speaking from personal experience. He was speaking about the black Americans that he saw. He actually was speaking about one particular day when they were walking across the field and he heard them singing and happy. Then he followed that up with he never heard the black Americans that he witnessed speak about white people in a derogatory way or speak about entitlement or welfare subjects. Then he finished his statement with they were GODLY, the ones that he saw walking in the field.
You have to really have an evil disposition to classify this has hate speech.
