Texas Governor Rick Perry refuses to mince words when it comes to homosexuality. On Wednesday, Governor Perry astonished a crowd in San Francisco by saying that homosexuality is a choice, much like alcoholism. The firestorm was immediate and as expected, brutal. Governor Perry faced a barrage of criticism for daring to imply the practice of homosexuality is nothing less than a choice that one makes. But with this one punch from Perry, the American church continues to expose itself as weak, gutless, and worthless in the face of the homosexual lobby. This is just one front.
Where is the church to speak the truth when it comes to matters of sin, to warn the church that persecution is coming? The enemies of Christianity gather in numbers ready to crush it from the outside. Meanwhile, the church is destroying itself from within. Engaging the culture leads only to submission. Pastor Joel Osteen, the picture representation of America’s Church of Laodicea, illustrated in his comments on gay marriage:
“I think the challenge for me that you have to overcome is they want to go to the hot button issues and for some people, that’s not what my ministry’s about or what I’m about.”
No, Joel, heaven forbid you call out sin for what it is. The Bible talks about “sin” singular 447 times. The Bible specifically references homosexuality as “abomination.” Joel Osteen is supposed to be a pastor, a preacher of the Word, screaming to a lost world that the wages of sin is death. That sin unforgiven by the blood of Jesus Christ equals eternal separation from God.
Phil Robertson did it, and got blasted for daring to speak the words that progressives hate. Calling a spade a spade, he said what the mealy mouth pastors of today don’t want to say, for fear of people leaving their warm comfortable seats. He called homosexuality a sin and the Left foamed at the mouth.
Where is the American Church? AWOL. America is failing, and the cause of it’s ills is SIN. When the Church fails, the country falters. America is not just faltering, but dying a bloody death. The Middle East is collapsing. Christians are being slaughtered by the thousands. Where is the American church? Silent. Reports estimate that the number of Christians martyred for their faith DOUBLED from 2012 to 2013 alone.
While Christians in Syria, Nigeria, and Iraq, to name a few, are being torched, beheaded, shot and raped, American Christians are debating if homosexuality is really a sin. The Methodist Church is on the verge of splitting over the issue. Really? An issue so clearly outlined in the Bible as an abomination is being ignored and deemed a “minor issue.”
The homosexual agenda will devour the church. The goal of every progressive, much like their Muslim counterparts is the same: extinguish Christians systematically. Though the two could not be more diametrically opposed, they can agree on destroying Christianity. How bad has it gotten that Rick Perry is a voice of reason in calling out sin for what it is, a chosen behavior? But yet a pastor like Osteen, a supposed man of God, is too weak and gutless to call a spade a spade.
When the progressive minions come for American Christians, no one will be ready. It’s already happening, but the eerie silence is deafening.
America is the fat, lazy church of Laodicea, spoken of so forcefully in the book of Revelation. Revelation 3: 15-16 states:
15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.
Is there any wonder why the abomination that is Barack Obama was elected, and not without the help of the American church, as the leader of this nation? People don’t care. There are other things to attend to. Meanwhile, the forces of evil gather, and the day of reckoning is coming, but will it be too late?
2 Chronicles 7:14– If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
The Lord will forgive, but persecution is assured. There is no stopping what’s coming.
