Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson recently, upon being asked if the administration had reached out to the family of Kate Steinle, “To who?” Kate Steinle, if you remember, is the young woman who was brutally murdered in San Francisco last week by an illegal alien being given sanctuary by the city of San Francisco. Apparently the open borders crowd are so insensitive to the damage being done by their policies that they don’t bother to pay attention when it costs innocent Americans their lives.
With some hard work and determination in January of 2017 we should be able to replace Barack Obama and his Marxist regime with people who appreciate and follow the Constitution (i.e. Ted Cruz), but even that won’t be enough to prevent tragedies such as this. As long as Democrats in either party still hold the office of Mayor in our cities and towns, these havens for illegal aliens will still exist; unless of course, we do something about it. I propose we use one of the Left’s favorite government agencies to solve this issue – the IRS.
Illegal immigration is allowed to flourish and sanctuary cities exist because greedy liberals want cheap labor, and therefore they are making money off of illegal activity. Since they are profiting off of this activity and costing the government money through added burdens to social programs, law enforcement, and prisons, it would be entirely justifiable if we recouped those costs by doubling all income tax rates, including capital gains, in any zip code where a sanctuary city exists.
Since sanctuary cities exist because of Liberal policies, and Liberals think taxes should be higher anyway, not a single one of them should do anything but enthusiastically support this proposal. Certainly, they won’t argue that the higher taxes hurt businesses in those areas, nor could they argue that higher capital gains taxes would stifle investment. Frankly, I see this as a win-win situation for both sides of the issue.
