All three teens are believed to be involved with an attempted carjacking Tuesday morning. Charles Clark was grabbed from behind after he exited his car outside his condominium. He was stabbed three times in the arm and suffered other injuries in a struggle, allegedly with Antonio Peterson, Jr.
Clark’s screams got the attention of a neighbor, who helped scare off the assailants. However they did get Clark’s keys, and are accused of returning that night and stealing his car.
The car was recovered Wednesday morning, and police say the fingerprints of all three suspects were found in the vehicle.
Beating suspect Antonio Peterson Jr had a message for his father before being hauled away, “Come get me,” but his father has decided to show up to help this time. He has spoken to his son on many occasions and even tried to get him out of trouble, but not this time. “I can’t get you out of this one” said Antonio Peterson Sr.
Earlier Thursday, FOX 13’s Steve Nichols spoke to Peterson, Sr., the father of the other two suspects: Antonio Peterson Jr. and Xavier Peterson.
Peterson says he knew police were looking for his oldest son, Antonio Peterson, Jr, but was surprised 13-year old Xavier was also involved in Tuesday’s armed robbery of an 83-year old Pinellas Park man.
“I don’t know who influenced who, all I know they made a dumb mistake, dumb decision, dumb everything,” the brothers’ father said. “I feel sorry for the individual that it happened to.”
