It’s Time to Start Telling the Truth About Abortion Dangers

It never ceases to amaze me how those leading the pro-choice (or as I call it, the pro-abortion) movement, are so comfortable leaving out important facts about the psychological dangers associated with and directly linked to abortion. Their dishonesty is appalling. Almost as bad is the damage caused by the mainstream media’s dishonesty.  Instead of telling the whole story, they so often push an agenda for the left wing radical abortion movement.

Sadly, another example of this has come to light in the case of Charlotte Dawson, an Australian model and judge on Australia’s Next Top Model who chose to take her life after fighting years of depression that began once she had an abortion.

From The Telegraph, February 23:

In the end it seemed like the final, inevitable episode of a tragic soap opera: Charlotte Dawson — the model, TV star and social crusader who spent many of her adult years battling depression — ended her life at the age of 47.

It is understood Dawson was found hanged in her luxury Woolloomooloo Finger Wharf apartment by a security guard on Saturday morning, the day after the birthday of her ex-husband and the man she still described as the love of her life – disgraced Olympic swimmer Scott Miller….

But friends believe she had never really gotten over her marriage to Miller, which ended in divorce after only a year. In her tell-all autobiography Air Kiss And Tell, she revealed she had an abortion because the pregnancy would interfere with Miller’s preparation for the 2000 Olympics – and blamed that for the start of her long battle with depression.

This story is sad for many reasons but what makes it especially tragic is that the media hasn’t picked it up or chosen to bring awareness to the real and ongoing threat of abortion with regards to a woman’s mental health. Research has clearly shown that having an abortion is an emotionally traumatic experience yet the topic is rarely covered. According to a study published in a British Journal of Psychiatry Report:

“Women who had undergone an abortion experienced an 81% increased risk of mental health problems, and nearly 10% of the incidence of mental health problems was shown to be attributable to abortion. The strongest subgroup estimates of increased risk occurred when abortion was compared with term pregnancy and when the outcomes pertained to substance use and suicidal behaviour.”

In addition to psychological problems, the Chinese have recently released a study about abortion and breast cancer which concluded that there is a link:

Conclusion (IA stands for Abortion) IA is significantly associated with an increased risk of breast cancer among Chinese females, and the risk of breast cancer increases as the number of IA increases. If IA were to be confirmed as a risk factor for breast cancer, high rates of IA in China may contribute to increasing breast cancer rates.

So not only do woman have the potential to suffer mentally, but her chances of physical suffering also increase. Why haven’t we heard about this study on major news outlets? Why isn’t Oprah talking about it? Or Doctor Oz? Answer: It doesn’t fit the agenda. It is unacceptable to omit information in order to further an agenda. That is the real definition of a  #WaronWomen if you ask me. We could use an honest look at the issue of ‘abortion on demand’ all around. But the discussion will not be had if only part of the truth is on the table.
