On Tuesday, the U.N appointed Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio as a ‘Messenger of Peace’ representative for his outspoken efforts regarding climate change over the years. He will address a U.N. summit meeting on September 23.
U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon proclaimed “Leonardo DiCaprio is not just one of the world’s leading actors. He has also a long-standing commitment to environmental causes, including through his foundation.”
Mr. DiCaprio reiterated his urge to take action against the climate. “I feel a moral obligation to speak out at this key moment in human history – it is a moment for action. How we respond to the climate crisis in the coming years will likely determine the fate of humanity and our planet.”
This type of fear mongering sounds familiar. In fact, Obama said something similar to this, among many other climate change activists. When he spoke at Georgetown last year, he said “I refuse to condemn your generation and future generations to a planet that’s beyond fixing. We will be judged as a people, and as a society, and as a country on where we go from here.”
How is it possible to take the predictions of these climate change alarmists seriously when they seem to be wrong every single time? Al Gore infamously predicted in 2008 that 5 years from now, the North Pole would be ice free.
Plus, why do DiCaprio and other activists keep saying much more needs to be done when we’ve already made tremendous leaps in better efficiency and technology to improve the environment? It reminds me of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson when it comes to racism. No matter how far our country has come to reduce racism and become more accepting of everyone, they still claim we’re a racist country. This makes it apparent these individuals have a political agenda. They will never be satisfied and always claim we’re never doing enough to please them.
The U.N. can praise DiCaprio and believe whatever they want. The bottom line is all the evidence that debunks man-made climate change is on our side, such as the climate gate scandal and all the predictions in climate forecasts turning out to be incorrect. The U.N. isn’t all about solutions, but more about political stunts, and this appears to be their most recent one.
